Escapee Returned To Dorothea Dix Hospital

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Dorothea Dix Hospital patient who escaped Sunday night is back at the facility.

Investigators say Kevin McCord, 29, escaped during a treatment around 8 p.m.

Authorities found McCord around 7 p.m. Monday as he was walking along Highway 401 in Harnett County.

Officials worried McCord could be a danger to himself and others; he did not put up a fight.
