WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — The investigation into the death of a Cary teenager has fallen apart.
Jevon Ward and Raymond Curtis were charged in connection with Amanda Simpson-Deane's murder.
The district attorney said he does not have enough evidence to convict either man. He said his case fell apart when a jailhouse snitch tried to guarantee his parole in exchange for testimony for either side.
Simpson-Deane's body was found at the bottom of a well in Nash County in September 2002.
