Raleigh Woman Wins $4 Million In Lotto South Drawing

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman will show up for work next week even though she's $4 million richer, thanks to the Lotto South drawing.

Bonnie Naugle won on Feb. 4 after buying her ticket at the Uppy's store in Bracey, Va.

""I've been playing the same numbers for about 12 years," she said. "I filed out a ticket a long time ago and my husband and I would come up here and get a hot dog, ice cream and buy a ticket."

Naugle said she will stay on the job as a sales representative for a Raleigh trucking company. Naugle said she will take the lump sum payment.

Lottery officials also presented a check for $25,000 to the store for selling the winning ticket.

Lotto South is played in Virginia, Georgia and Kentucky, but it will be ended soon to make way for Win for Life. In the new game, winners can receive a top prize of a thousand dollars a week for the rest of their lives. The first drawing in that game will be held on March 1.

North Carolina hopes to get its lottery up and running at the end of March.
