GREENSBORO, N.C. — Paula Abdul denied having an affair with an "American Idol" contestant. But that doesn't mean she won't dance with one.
Air National Guard Sgt. Stephen David Jr. swept Abdul into his arms and danced with her while he auditioned in Greensboro. The show featured a stop in Greensboro for Tuesday night's episode.
David's moves, and his voice, impressed the judges. David made the cut.
Kellie Pickler
, 19, of Albemarle, also got the nod to go to Hollywood after she sang a version of Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone."
But one reject made Simon Cowell's day. Marcus Bealing butchered a Michael Jackson song.
When Cowell asked if he had vocal lessons, Bealing told Simon that he had the "Ultimate Voice Coach" DVD that Abdul and Randy Jackson put out last year. The judges were in hysterics.
