Posted September 24, 2001
RALEIGH — The
North Carolina Department of Transportation
will have nightly lane closings on Interstate 40 starting Wednesday.
The westbound lanes of I-40 will be closed for about three miles from N.C. 147 in Durham to the Interstate 540 interchange. The closings will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The project will widen the highway from six to eight lanes. DOT crews will do most of the work at night to minimize the impact on traffic.
