Murder Added To Father's Charges After Child Dies From Apparent Abuse

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police detectives have charged Gregory Carringer with the death of his 4-month-old son, Logan.

Carringer was served in the Cumberland County Detention Center with a warrant for second-degree murder. He had been in jail on felony child-abuse charges since Wednesday.

Carringer is under a $150,000 secured bond. The additional charges were issued after

Logan died Wednesday night in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center from injuries he received Wednesday morning.

Logan was not breathing and placed on a respirator when he was admitted to the hospital. Doctors notified police that Logan received some type of head trauma.

Detectives are continuing their investigation.
