RALEIGH, N.C. — A Durham County prosecutor will try a former state trooper accused of attempting to kill his wife in Roxboro last summer.
Assistant District Attorney David Saacks is handling the case against Bobby Regan, who is charged with the attempted murder of his wife. Danielle Regan was shot in her home in July.
The Person County district attorney's office felt prosecuting the case would be a conflict of interest since Regan used to work there.
A trial date has not been set.
