Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police in Wilson, Greenville and Rocky Mount say a manlinked to a string of police impersonator cases has been taken into custody.

Charles Henry Arms was taken arrested Feb. 6 at his home in Charlotte. Arms was transported to Pitt County Detention Center where Wilson officers charged him with 10 crimes related to 10 police impersonating investigations that began in April 2002.

During the investigation, police found that Arms was responsible for similar crimes throughout eastern North Carolina.

Some recent cases in eastern North Carolina involved two men, but investigators in Rocky Mount said they still do not know who is the second suspect involved in the case. However, Wilson police said Arms admitted to them that he was involved in a scam in Nash County.

Rocky Mount investigators plan to interview Arms Tuesday.
