RALEIGH, N.C. — A medical examiner's report shows an inmate who died in the Wake County jail last weekend couldn't have been saved.
According to the report, Timothy Perry died of a brain aneurysm.
Perry was in jail for failing to pay child support.
Investigators said on Saturday that Perry complained of a headache and jailers gave him medication. When he started having a seizure later in the day, workers took him to the hospital.
He died Sunday afternoon.
A Wake County sheriff's major said jail staff followed protocol and did everything they could to help Perry.
