RESTON, Va. — Sprint Nextel
will provide telecommunications services for customers of Suddenlink Communications, a cable TV system operator.
Suddenlink has more than 80,000 customers in North Carolina, primarily around Rocky Mount and Greenville. The company is the eighth-largest cable TV provider in the country, with 1.4 million customers.
Some 30,000 Suddenlink customers already use cable-based telecommunications,as do 1,000 businesses.
Sprint has contracts with cable TV firms that reach more than 30 million homes.
