Driver Survives Fall From Wake County Overpass

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A driver in Wake County was able to walk away from his vehicle Thursday morning after it went over an overpass on U.S. 1 and landed on the railroad tracks below.

The accident happened just after 5:30 a.m. on U.S. 1 between Burlington Mills and exit 1A, south of wake Forest.

Officials found the dazed driver walking down the railroad tracks, about 100 yards away from the burned vehicle.

The driver was transported to a local hospital.
