Fire Damages Room At Durham Hotel

DURHAM, N.C. — A fire broke out in a Durham hotel room overnight.

Authorities say Eric Rodgers rented a first-floor room at the Red Roof Inn off Highway 55. Investigators say he set the room on fire.

Authorities say Rodgers was intoxicated and showing signs of having mental problems at the time of the fire.

The hotel was evacuated briefly. No one was injured.
