SPRING LAKE, N.C. — Authorities say speed was a major factor in an accident involving a stopped school bus Wednesday in Spring Lake.
Officials said the incident happened at the corner of Spring Avenue and Grogg Street in Spring Lake.
According to a witness, a bus carrying students from Pine Forest High School was stopped when a car came around the corner and hit the bus head-on.
Officials said 20 kids, who were on the bus at the time of the accident, were fine.
Three people -- Laura Worster, James Hunt and Dennis Conley -- who were in the car were treated and released from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Authorities said Worster, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with careless and reckless driving and driving with a revoked license.
