End-Of-Year Donations Lead To Long Lines At Thrift Stores

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — A lot of people who wanted to donate items to those less fortunate waited for the last day of the year.

Dec. 31 was the deadline to make a donation to take advantage of a tax deduction for 2003.

In Cary, a steady stream of people brought items to the Goodwill store and to the nearby Dorcas Thrift Store and left with their tax receipts.

Everything from clothing to televisions were donated.
