RED SPRINGS, N.C. — A day after being struck by a car as she and her husband were out for a bike ride, a Robeson County woman has died from her injuries.
Joyce Carter, 46, died Wednesday at Duke University Medical Center, where she had been admitted Tuesday in critical condition.
Carter's husband, Gregory, 47, died in Tuesday's accident.
According to the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 6 p.m. Tuesday on Mount Zion Church Road.
The couple was riding east when the car, also headed east, struck them. It was raining at the time, but investigators said the weather was not a factor.
No one has been charged in the accident.
