FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Friday homicide.
Police arrested 18-year-old James Franklin West of Fayetteville, charging him with first-degree murder. He was being held without bond Saturday.
West is accused of killing Russell Hammonds. A co-worker found Hammonds dead Friday afternoon at Colonial Realty on Ramsey Street.
At first, the co-worker thought Hammonds suffered a heart attack. But paramedics later discovered a gunshot wound to his side.
