DURHAM, N.C. — A joint operation conducted by the Durham Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspector and the United States SecretService resulted in three arrests Friday in Durham.

Investigators served a search warrant Friday morning at 811 Dupree Street. They arrested Erika L. Puryear, Ira D. Mount III and David E. Leeds.

Puryear and Mount live at the residence. Leeds' address is listed as 2920 Chapel Hill Road, Apt. 51-A.

According to Durham police, the suspects will be charged at the state level with multiple counts of identity theft and other financial offenses. Federal charges are pending.

Several garbage bags filled with stolen mail were recovered, along with computer equipment and other documents.

Although arrests have been made, Durham police said the investigation will continue due to the broad scope of the suspects' activities and the volume of evidence that needs to be reviewed and catalogued.
