ZEBULON, N.C. — A 20-year veteran of the Zebulon Police Department is off the job and under investigation.
Capt. Gary Driver, the department's second-in-command, was fired last week and charged with stealing money from the evidence room.
Driver is also accused of writing several worthless checks, some totaling more than $2,000.
If convicted, Driver could face prison time.
