Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The state's Hurricane Relief Fund received a big boost on Thursday.

State Street Corp. presented Gov. Mike Easley with a check for $60,000. The investment bank helped the state during Hurricane Floyd in 1999.

The donation will help storm victims pay for things like food and medicine. It will also supplement state and federal aid to storm victims.
