DURHAM, N.C. — Novelist and convicted killer Mike Peterson is trying to cash in his assets.
His Cedar Street mansion in Durham went on the market Thursday at $1,175,000.
Peterson killed his wife, Kathleen, in the stairwell of the home on Dec. 9, 2001.
In addition, defense attorney David Rudolf renewed his motion for free legal counsel for Peterson.
Rudolf claims Peterson is broke and cannot afford a lawyer for an appeal. Judge Orlando Hudson denied the original request.
