Thousands Of Raleigh BellSouth Customers Without Service After Lines Cut

RALEIGH, N.C. — About 2,000 BellSouth phone and Internet customers remain without service Wednesday.

Multiple fiber and cable lines were cut by contractors digging underground along Jones Street in downtown Raleigh Tuesday afternoon.

As many as 6,000 customers were affected.

BellSouth representative John McKinney said all service should be restored by 10 p.m.
