<b>HOPE MILLS, N.C.</b> — The Hope Mills Police Department says a 13-year-old teen-ager was injured Wednesday while going to school.

Joshua David McCauley and another student were running for the school bus on North Main Street when McCauley slipped in a grassy area and fell into the path of a van.

McCauley received several severe leg fractures and was transported to Duke Hospitals for treatment.

The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the van reportedly did not see the child fall. No charges have been filed.
