Crews Restore Electricity To Hatteras Village

Posted Updated

HATTERAS VILLAGE, N.C. — Modern conveniences are slowly returning to one of the communities hardest hit by Hurricane Isabel.

Crews restored permanent electricity to Hatteras Village Monday.

Water lines were hooked up days ago, although residents are still asked to boil water.

Hurricane Isabel cut off the village when it carved a new inlet on Hatteras Island.

The Army Corps of Engineers hopes to fill in the breach by early November.
