Durham Police Release Composite Of Rape Suspect

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators have released a composite drawing of a suspect in a Sept. 11 sexual assault.

The victim told officers she was at Cook Road and Fayetteville Street around 4 p.m., waiting for a bus to take her to the hospital, when a man driving a green or teal-colored SUV stopped and offered her a ride.

The man reportedly took the woman to a secluded area behind a brick building somewhere near Githens Middle School and raped her.

The suspect is described as an African-American with a light complexion, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 180 to 190 pounds.

The victim said the suspect had a mustache and a short Afro hairstyle. He had small, thin lips, a wide nose and a feminine-sounding voice. He also had a tattoo on his right shoulder.
