Red Cross Opens Shelters In Franklin, Warren Counties

The Triangle Area Chapter

of the Red Cross has opened shelters in Franklin and Warren counties for those seeking safety from Hurricane Isabel.

Below is a list of shelters open as of 1 p.m. Thursday:

Franklin County

  • Louisburg Senior Citizens Center -- Shannon Village Shopping Center, Louisburg
  • Franklin Senior Center -- 602 E. Mason St., Franklinton
  • Warren County

  • Warrenton H.S. -- Hwy 58 Bypass, Warrenton
  • Roanoke/Wildwood FD -- 500 Quail Ridge, Littleton
  • Olive Grove Baptist Church -- Eaton Ferry Rd., Littleton
  • Families and individuals are advised to bring along basic emergency and personal items that will be needed in the shelters. Such items include pillows and bedding items, essential medications and other health-related items, extra clothing, and a toy or activity for children.
