Harnett County Authorities Search For Rape, Kidnapping Suspect

ANGIER, N.C. — The Angier Police Department and Harnett County Sheriff's Office are looking for Norman Allen Plummer on numerous charges, including kidnapping and rape.

Angier police have charged Plummer with kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. The Harnett County Sheriff's Office, meanwhile, wants Plummer on charges of 1st-degree rape.

According to Harnett County Sheriff Larry Rollins, his deputies received a call from Angier police on Aug. 8 in reference to the rape of a 35-year-old female. The victim reportedly was kidnapped and assaulted in Angier and forced to drive to a location in Harnett County, were she was raped.

A joint investigation by Rollins' office and Angier police identified the suspect as Plummer, an African-American standing 5-feet-11, weighing 180 pounds and possibly wearing his hair in braids.

Rollins said Plummer's last known address is Quail Creek Ct. in Raleigh, but he also has relatives in Benson, Angier, Erwin and Dunn.
