Raleigh Officials Have Plan To Pay For Fayetteville Street Mall Project

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A plan to pay for Raleigh's Fayetteville Street mall makeover is about to get a green light.

Members of the city council's budget and economic development committee voted Monday to use some reserve money to pay for the $1.5 million engineering contract.

The full council will weigh in next month.

Officials hope opening the pedestrian mall to traffic will help revitalizing downtown.
