DUNN, N.C. — A hostage situation outside Dunn is over.
It started around 2 p.m. Wednesday near Spring Branch Road and Mingo Church Road.
According to police, Steve McNeill took his girlfriend hostage. A deputy was able to get inside the home and convince McNeill to release the woman after about 90 minutes.
McNeill surrendered about an hour later.
