Durham Police Investigate Homicide

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a homicide that occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Officers were called to 2508 South Roxboro St., where they found Douglas Thornton, 19, of Summit St. Thornton, who had suffered a gunshot wound, was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting and there is no suspect information at this time.
