<b>PERSON COUNTY, N.C.</b> — A 25-year-old man is dead after an accident on a local lake.

Jason Gutherie was boating on Hyco Lake in Person County around 4 a.m. Saturday. He stood up as the boat passed underneath the Cobb Creek Bridge, hit his head and fell out of the boat.

Two others on board the boat couldn't save Gutherie. Rescue crews found his body around 10 a.m. Saturday after dragging the lake for a couple of hours.

There was no word Saturday on whether or not alcohol was involved.
