N.C. Health IT Organization Names New Officers

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — William Mattern of the University of North Carolina Health Care Systems, is the new chair of the

North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance

(NCHICA).

Other new officers include:

  • President: Jon Brown (Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.)
  • 1st Vice President: Tom Earnhardt, (Cabarrus Family Medicine, Concord, N.C.)
  • 2nd Vice President: Samuel Spicer, (N.C. College of Emergency Physicians, Wilmington, N.C.)
  • Secretary: Jean Foster (Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC)
  • Treasurer: Gail Hinte, (HIMformatics, Cary, N.C.)
  • Assistant Treasurer: Richard Low (Topsail Technologies, Durham, NC)
  • NCHICA is a nonprofit group focused on increasing the adoption of information technology across the state's healthcare sector.
