Corbett formerly was systems development librarian at the Lister Hill Library at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Earlier in her career she was director of information resources at the Wake Area Health Education Center following a 16-year career at the Health Sciences Library at East Carolina University.
Corbett received a master's degree in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also earned a master's in environmental health at ECU and a bachelor's degree in political science and Russian studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
