SPRING HOPE, N.C. — A man was charged in connection with an accident early Thursday that killed a woman driving a tractor, authorities said.
Helen Jean Finch, 66, of Spring Hope, was pulling two tobacco trailers with her tractor west along N.C. Highway 97 at about 5:45 a.m. Thursday when a westbound Corvette slammed into the tractor, authorities said.
Jasper Pete Horne Jr., of Rocky Mount, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, authorities said.
