CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities have arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with alleged sex crimes committed via the Internet.

According to authorities, 31-year-old Joshua Shawn Pounds engaged in an online chat with a detective from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office. Pounds thought he was talking to a 13-year-old girl and exposed himself via a webcam, said authorities.

Pounds also enticed the detective to meet him at a hotel, stating that he planned to take "risqué" photos of her, said authorities.

Pounds was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $500 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
