Overnight Shutdowns Planned For I-40 West

RALEIGH, N.C. — Traffic headaches on Interstate 40 continue, as Department of Transportation crews continue work on the Clayton Bypass this weekend.

From midnight until 2 a.m. Saturday, the DOT will shut down I-40 westbound between exits 306 and 312. They plan to do it again from midnight to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Detour signs will be up in the affected area. Traffic patterns should return to normal by noon Sunday.
