Raleigh native and former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken is expected to release a new album this fall.

"A Thousand Different Ways" hits stores Sept. 19 and is expected to include 10 remakes of well-known songs from the past three decades, as well as four never-before-released songs.

The Raleigh Clay Fans are hosting a CD release party Monday, Sept. 18, at the Wake County Shrine Club at 6015 Lead Mine Road from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Aiken's newest CD reportedly features tracks made famous by Richard Marx, Elton John, Foreigner, Mr. Mister, Celine Dion and Dolly Parton.

The new release, from RCA Records, is Aiken's third album since his run on Season 2 of American Idol. In 2003, he released his debut album, "Measure of a Man," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart.

Aiken's holiday album, "Merry Christmas With Love," was released in 2004.
