Attorney Considering Run For Durham DA Job To Speak Wednesday

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham defense attorney who is considering a run for district attorney is speaking out Wednesday.

Steve Monks is holding a news conference at 3 p.m. In June he ran door-to-door trying to get his name on the ballot as an unaffiliated candidate, but he did not get enough signatures.

Monks said he would consider running as a write-in candidate.

Last week, Durham County Commissioner Lewis Cheek said he would not run for district attorney.
