RALEIGH, N.C. — Two people have been arrested and another person is still on the loose in connection with an assault Monday night.

Raleigh police said three men -- 26-year-old Maurice William Pierce, 30-year-old Tavoris Darnell Latimer and 19-year-old Lorenzo Julius Robinson III -- forced their way into an apartment on Six Forks Road and attacked 23-year-old David Joseph Paul.

Authorities said Paul was beaten and robbed, and was later stabbed and his throat cut. Paul was able to call for help and was taken to WakeMed.

Investigators have arrested Latimer and Robinson and charged them with attempted murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. They are still looking for Pierce, who police say played a key role in planning and executing the crime.

If you have any information about Pierce's whereabouts, you are asked to contact Raleigh police at 919-890-3555.

Anyone with information about the possible whereabouts of any of the suspects should call the Raleigh Police Department's Detective Division at (919) 890-3555.
