RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman who told a judge she killed her husband is expected to learn her punishment Wednesday.

Teresa Clawson recently pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Clawson stabbed her husband, Bruce, at least eight times in their home in April. She did not say why.

At a sentencing hearing Wednesday morning, the judge heard evidence about the couple's 20-year marriage. Friends said it was plagued by domestic violence.

Bruce Clawson had a long criminal history, which includes assault and battery.

Teresa Clawson could face up to 40 years in prison.
