Wake County Surveying Residents On Health Issues

Posted Updated

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Wake County officials want to determine what health issues affect and concern local residents most.

A survey and targeted focus group sessions are being conducted throughout July to obtain information from Wake County residents about health issues. The survey is available online through July 15, and paper copies are also available at libraries across Wake County.

Gibbie Harris, Wake County's community health director, said that state officials ask local health departments to conduct community assessments every four years to better target their efforts and resources.

"We want to encourage everyone to complete the survey and to encourage family members, friends and colleagues to also go online to let us know what issues they feel are important," said Harris.

The 2006 assessment includes physical, mental, economic and environmental health concerns as well as safety and lifelong learning.
