ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Roanoke Rapids' new entertainment center is making a splash.
Carolina Crossroads is not even built yet, but it is already expanding with a water park that will include slides and a 600,000-gallon wave pool.
The adventure-landing park, to be built along Interstate 95 in Halifax County, will create 350 jobs when it opens next spring. It will bring live entertainment, amusement parks, hotels, restaurants and shopping to Roanoke Rapids.
Carolina Crossroads and its outdoor concerts are the brainchild of entertainer Randy Parton.
