North Raleigh Wreck Injures One, Temporarily Closes Road

RALEIGH, N.C. — An early morning accident in North Raleigh shut down a portion of Lynn Road and left more than 3,400 people in the dark on Sunday.

A car crashed into a tree and power pole at around 3 a.m. Authorities said 22-year-old Rachel Ogle was trapped inside her vehicle for several hours as rescue crews navigated around the downed power lines to reach her.

Ogle was hurt, but her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, officials said. Police said they were determining whether DWI charges should be filed.

The road was closed between Six Forks Road and Lead Mine Road until about 10 a.m. Power was restored to nearly everyone affected shortly afterward.
