Lee County Proposed As Site Of Future Landfill

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A local company wants to make Lee County the next site for a landfill.

MRR Construction wants to buy about 1,400 acres near the Lee-Chatham county border. About 300 acres would become a dumping site.

The proposed landfill would take in garbage from Durham, Wake and Guilford counties.

The Planning Board will get feedback from the public at its June 16 meeting.
