ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — A mother accused of pouring boiling water on her 4-year-old son has given up custody of her three kids for now.
The Orange County Department of Social Services is temporarily caring for Julia Leon's three children.
The 22-year-old mother brought her burned son to UNC Hospitals two months ago.
Leon was arrested in April after the hospital found bruises on the boy, along with signs of continued abuse.
