WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A driver was charged with DWI following a fiery wreck near the Interstate 40 East exit early Wednesday morning.
The Highway Patrol said a car hit a vintage Ford Mustang just after midnight near Walnut Creek. The Mustang rolled over and burst into flames. The other car then ran off the road.
The driver of the Mustang was taken to the hospital. Officials said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The Highway Patrol said the driver of the other car was not seriously hurt.
