ROSEBORO, N.C. — A local family is dealing with a tragedy that killed their son and destroyed their house.
A fire tore through a Sampson County house in Clinton over the weekend. Wayne Dabbs, 27, died.
Dabbs' parents also lived in the house. But they weren't home at the time.
According to the Fire Marshal, the fire started from something cooking on top of the stove.
