Authorities ramp up efforts to find missing Hope Mills woman

Edwardyne "Dynee" Williams was last seen Nov. 27. Her two daughters told WRAL News Friday that they suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Investigators found Williams' abandoned SUV along Chicken Foot Road in Cumberland County earlier this week, about two miles from her home on Canady Pond Road. Family members said her purse was found hanging on a nearby tree, and her house keys and cellphone were in the vehicle.

Searchers spent much of the day Saturday scouring wooded areas near Williams' house hoping to find clues about her disappearance.

Swampy terrain hampered the two-man Southeast K-9 Search and Rescue team, but Capt. Todd Hardin said he's hopeful that they'll find something useful to the investigation when they return to the area on Sunday.

"(We've) been through five or six areas today. No major hits, but who knows? Maybe tomorrow will be a little different," he said.

Hardin said the job is physically and emotionally trying, but he wants to find answers for Williams' family.

"(It's) tough, but fulfilling – very, very fulfilling," he said.

Williams is described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 180 pounds. She has long, dark blond hair, hazel eyes and wears glasses. Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.
