WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — One person was killed Tuesday morning in a wreck involving a tractor-trailer and a car in Wake County.
The state Highway Patrol said the driver of the car lost control, hit a guard rail and bounced into the path of the tractor-trailer. A passenger in the car was killed.
The wreck happened after 10 a.m. along U.S. 70, east of Auburn-Knightdale Road. Traffic was backed up in both directions for about 30 minutes. A section of the road that was closed re-opened just before noon.
So far, no charges have been filed.
