Durham Police Investigate Homicide

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a homicide that occurred Friday night in the parking lot of an apartment building on Taylor Street.

Officers responded to a call at 8:13 p.m. on Friday and found Leroshard Decarlo Gooch lying in the parking lot at 2324 Taylor Street. He had been shot multiple times and suffered lacerations to his throat.

Police are looking for a suspect described as a black male, 5- feet-9 inches tall, 150 pounds, with a slender build.

The suspect was wearing a toboggan-style hat, dark, baggy jeans and a waist-length black jacket. He fled in a 1990s model gold Volkswagen Jetta with no rims. Police say the car was clean and polished.
