DURHAM, N.C. — There is new information concerning Jackie Wagstaff, the Durham School Board member who admitted to falsifying city checks.
In January, Wagstaff was ordered to pay misdemeanor fines, stemming from those charges. She missed the payment deadline. A warrant was issued for failing to comply, but Wagstaff was not arrested. A new court date is set for March 28.
Meanwhile, the
Durham Herald-Sun
reports Wagstaff's landlord filed court papers to evict her, saying she owes nearly $3,000 in back rent and fees.
Wagstaff said she has not been able to find work since the school board started proceedings to oust her.
